Works with hydraulics also... my 85 interstate had a tiny leak in the sight window and allowed fluid to disappear on me.. bike would start in gear with the clutch pulled in.. bike crept forward and started.. shifting was a bit harder.. and coming to stops was interesting to say the least... b patched now.. and I did this two up as was out with the wife...
 
The hardest thing to do is get the bike rolling at the right speed as you kick the shift lever into gear: too fast or too slow causes a somewhat jerky ride.

I had to ride approximately 50 miles to get mine home once and luckly only had to come to a complete stop twice. It did require a lot of extra thinking and planning on how to make the trip and avoid traffic lights and congested areas as much as possibile.
 
The most important part of the video is to practise this technique before you actually need to use it :good:
