here's what this one does
https://www.ebay.com/itm/BSA-SPARX-TYPE- ... 61&vxp=mtr
IF YOU'RE TRYING TO SIMPLIFY THINGS THEN USE THIS BOX TO GET RID OF YOUR BATTERY, ZENER DIODE, RECTIFIER AND REMOTE CAPACITOR. IT'S ALL BUILT INTO THIS UNIT !! YOU CAN STILL WIRE IN A BATTERY IF YOU NEED TO BUT HAVE THE PEACE OF MIND THAT YOU'RE BIKE WILL STILL START IF THE BATTERY IS DEAD OR LOW. CAN BE USED WITH TWO AND THREE WIRE ALTERNATORS AND TO CONVERT 6 VOLT ALTERNATORS TO TWELVE VOLT. JUST PAIR ANY OF THE THREE WIRES COMING OUT OF THE ALTERNATOR AND CHANGE YOUR BULBS TO 12V AND AWAY YOU GO :).

If your bike has a magnetic rotor it works (GL1000) but not with a field excited coil (such as CB750). We have many British bike customers who use a capacitor only, since most Brit bikes have a permanent rotor. We also offer a Battery Eliminator for the C5 ignition. Most bikes start in two kicks (first kick fills the coil) but of course you must kick start only, and you really should have a switch to keep all lights OFF until the engine is running. If not, your headlight drains the capacitor before the coil has a chance to fire the sparkplug.

I bought one of these recently, to have on the 'Wing in case I ever had another battery problem. The thing is small enough to put in the saddlebag or trunk....faaaaar smaller than my "normal" booster boxes, which take up the entire saddlebag, and weight aboot 25-30 pounds!
It will also charge/power laptops, phones, tablets, etc. Pretty neat deal, for the money, imho.

It would be good to test and know for sure

Ax and ye shall receive! :hihihi: Had a chance yesterday to test my "Pocket Power" jump box, amazingly enough, on a Honda. Not Goldwing, but an Odyssey. The car had a bad battery..as in it was on the charger all morning, and still only "clicked" when trying to start it. Soooooo...I strolled out to the 'Wing and got my new toy. Hooked it up, and the car fired right up quickly. The tech, and the manager were standing there, both saying "That little thing is gunna start this car?!" The manager even called some other people over to check it out....everyone was amazed. :hihihi:
Later, the Boss/owner came back into my dungeon and wanted to see it, and axed how much it cost... :ahem:

So, the verdict is in....darn widdle thing works great! :clapping: :good:

That little box packs enough juice to give the battery a boost?
Have you tried it yet?

Before I bought mine I disconnected the battery in my 2005 Silverado with 5.3 v-8 and hooked this thing up to it and it started the truck with no other help. I was amazed. I have used it a couple times to jump folks and they quit laughing when their cars started. I have also used it to charge both cell phones I carry and to power my laptop. All this is to say yes it works. Don't know how but it works.

Where can I get one?

Google Rockford pocket power and you will get some sources. If I recall correctly list is $249, Mac tool guy where I work is selling for $189, I had another supplier come in at $119 so I bought it from him. They are also on eBay if you check there.

May I ask who the $119 supplier was? Thanks Charlie in NC

Local vendor for shop supplies here in Cincinnati. I don't have the name here at home.

Thought the same thing 40 years ago for my 750 Triumph twin. The one i tried failed to work as advertised, :nea: so back it went for a refund. Not the same brand, & electronics have vastly improved since then!!! :good:
