I am posting my install of the driver's backrest on my GL1000. It is designed for the GL1100, but with a little ingenuity, bracket making, and paint it is done. The rear is bolted to the shock mounts, and the front mount I made a couple of brackets from flat stock. I have included pics so you can see the install.

I cannot ride long distances without a backrest and as hard as some of these accessories are getting to find that are still in good shape, you have to do what it takes to make it work.
 
That's pretty neato! And BIG! Looks like the backrest releases right where the swivel is, to take it off/put it on? Nice! Nice solution you came up with, too! :good: :clapping:
