OK I have looked through the threads about this diode.
I even bought one to prevent my neutral light from coming on with the clutch pulled in in any gear.
I have had my engine out 3 different occasions.

I can not find this diode on my bike. My buddy also could not find it.

This is supposed to cure my neutral light from coming on when I pull my clutch in in any gear. It does come on when in neutral but also in any gear.

It is supposed to be under the false tank, next to the turn signal flasher and by the regulator.

I have an 80 engine on an 83 frame and wiring.
Is it possible my bike does not have one?

Here is pics of the new one I got to replace the bad one.

The diode isn't to prevent the light from coming on while in gear, it is to prevent the clutch switch from turning on the neutral light when the lever is pulled.

Light on while in gear is a neutral switch problem, usually the contacts carbon up making the light come on.

Took the air box out and PRESTO there is my diode.

Will let you know if it keeps my green light out when I get it all back together.

The diode fixed my problem. Now I can pull the clutch in while in gear and no green light.

Thanks for the help.
