The next move in my adventures are doing something to the rear shocks. The rear are not holding air, you put air in, the air comes out. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth trying to rebuild the stock shocks, or go to more of a "regular" type of shock.

So, is it worth trying to rebuild? I have a 84 standard, so no air pump to worry about.

I have progressives fitted atm but will rebuild my originals with new progressive springs as I like my low air warning light on the 81 and the look. That said so far I love the performance and ride height of my second hand progressives. :good:

Their dampers, springs, seals, with boots, in your stock cans, keeps the stock fill point, will save you some cash, with a set of new shocks, in the process. Learned about it too late for several bikes, but my last bike has this set up & am very pleased with the results!

Seals, & maybe a set of boots, should set you straight. :read:
Make sure you don't have sagged springs as that is all that is wrong with my 35 year old shocks atm.
