Ok I cleaned the cylinders cleaned all four carbs new timing belts. Tested the stator not sure about regulator the starter works, not sure on spark yet. How is the best way to start to test motor and what about oil changes?

Randakk website has some good advice and info on putting an oldwing back in service that has setup for a long while.

You might want to read it for yourself to be sure. Roughly from memory it involves multple oil /filter changes including one internal clean up cycle involving an 50/50 mix of ATF and motor oil.

Ok I have been working on this everyday. I may not make even one of the charity rides this year which will be a bummer. I am fighting with the gas tank. It is almost clean i think i will run a double filter for awhile. The carbs I am not sure if they are synced what happens if they are not?

Carburetors out of sync makes for bad idling, backfires, uneven power, etc. You can build a synchronizing tool from PVC and plastic tubing. Check it out on U-tube. You want all carburetors to pull the same amount of vacuum at an idle.

I built one and they do work. Using ATF as the fluid versus water keeps bad things from happening if you do suck the manometer fluid into the carburetors.

you can put a temp tank of gas on carbs with tank up higher to check ans see if carbs float dont leak ....if they do id try to stop that probblem before putting them on bike to try .....dont want to hydro lock the motor ...just bump the starter till you sure things are doing as they should once installed on bike

Ok the engine is all back together and it is running. It was only running with chock at first then it seems to be getting better I put seafoam in the gas. It revs steady i dont rev it up much for now. No leaks I got about half gallon in rad and filled up the overflow. I added r qts 15 w40 dello and new filter it is to the top of dipstick should i drain a little? . The battery reads 15.4 running so i guess it is charging the clutch i cleaned and seems to be working.
What else do i need to check before trying to give test drive?

Might ought to keep an eye on that regulator, 15.4 is a little high and could cause some battery damage, should be around 14.3 or so.
At least check the meter. They vary in quality and readout.

They will run high spasmodically, I just checked my Red Cbr and under full revs it would read high voltage but it wasn't constant, I was using a specialised battery, cranking and charging tester that has led indicators plus voltmeter to test this. Just make sure that you have the coolant system/radiator full not just the overflow bottle.
