I can't believe that I haven't been on an overnight ride since my trip from LA to Sturgis. I only booked my accomadation 5 days before the actual ride as I still wasn't convinced that I could make it. As all my mates were on Sports/ Adventura bikes I was getting plenty of advice to take Red but as I can't go harder than the BMW 1000rr I thought the Rats Nest would be more prudent. It was a great run down to Yamba with a short ferry ride across the Clarence River between Lawrence and Yamba.
Starting point at the Canungra Cafe
The Hulk on its first big ride
Waiting on the side of the Casino Lawrence road for stragglers
The Lawrence Maclean Ferry
The majority of the group that booked in a timely fashion stayed at Moby Dicks were we met up with some of our group that had driven down to Yamba. As they arrived earlier we had awaiting cocktails and horderves ( beer/wine, cheese /crackers and some prawns/shrimp) before heading to the Pacific Hotel for dinner.
Which luckily it happened to be where my last minute accommodation booking was
When I get a chance to edit some video I will post that as well as the return journey

Cool! How many miles was the trip? Oh and... :useless:

~O~

Impatient Randy :head bang: :smilie_happy:

Sounds great.

My last over night was to Vegas bike fest when O-man and I met up.
My wife was along in the Burb which isn't the same as the rush going that distance alone.
I need to do a loner trip alone soon. Maybe to AZ to visit my brother.

Sounds good Dan :good: :moped: :salute:

Riding with others is great, but riding alone is better unless you are the one setting the pace. I got to figure out what I am doing this year, but my son's College plans might be changing mine.

He's been doing that a lot lately! :head bang: At least when he goes to this one, he will be there for four more years, and hopefully done with school after that.

Hopefully you end up with a day similar in sentiment and pride when our daughter Ashleigh was admitted to the bar in the Queensland Supreme Court. This picture is of her with her Barrister's wig on her head after the proceedings.
No she doesn't want to be a barrister (so she says now) plus the wig doesn't really work with her outfit :smilie_happy:

A lawyer... The only thing worse here in the States would be a politician! :smilie_happy:

This one is for his Doctorate in Musical Arts. He has desires to be a College Professor.

Looks like fun, Tony! I can't believe it'll be three years since the Rat's Nest project...
It is amazing to think that it was 3 years ago that we first started talking about the potential for the Rats Nest to be resurrected. As always I am indebted to you for all your hard work and expertise that still allows me so much enjoyment from a once rough diamond :good: :salute: :clapping: :yahoo:

I am trying to edit some dash cam video to add some motion to this post. If the video is fuzzy that is the auto focus on the iPhone not liking the vibration from our smooth roads :smilie_happy:
I was running late so I didn't even get off the bike at the meeting place in Canungra

Bit more length for you and more passing

This video was 23mins long and it just took me 14mins to upload 2.30 mins of video :head bang:

This next bit is from the top of the Lions Road. The last time I rode this was on the CBR (Red) and it was damp and we ended up with carnage with the Fireblade coming home in a trailer and the Ducati ending up over the side on the return leg down Mt Lindsay. Both bikes went to Yamba and came home safely without incident :clapping: :clapping:
