Even though my mate Pete only lives around the corner ( about 5 klms ) we agreed to meet at Maccas in Beaudesert ( Beauy ) for a ride over Lions Road to Kyogle and back up Numinbah Valley to home.
Not bad for the middle of winter!!
As these are most of my favourite roads it wasn't too hard to convince me that this would be a great first serious ride for the Valkyrie. It still needs a new front tire to really feel fully confident in the bikes abilities I was still more than happy with my performance on Val ( the front only washed out once briefly :whistling: ). Going down the mountain/hill there were some wet patches that were my only real concerns but Pete commented on them also. I had to work Val fairly hard through the lower gears to keep up with Pete in the twisties even though he had his girlfriend Kat as a pillion. His CB1300 is really the ultimate for high speed with pillion passenger comfort and I couldn't keep up with him on the last charge to the Advancetown Hotel for refreshments.
We stopped past his old house and dairy farm where he grew up on some 28 years ago on the way to lunch at the Commercial Hotel in Kyogle.
After lunch in Kyogle we made our way to Advancetown for a final beer at the Hotel before our last leg over Tamborine Mountain to home.

Looks like it was a beautiful day for a ride.
It really was Dan. Just started to get cool in the afternoon and the winter shadows were a little hard when riding into the setting sun on the way home.
It still was an excellent day's riding. :good:

Sounds like a great ride, I would love to come back to Australia, was there in the 60s and loved it.
Been a few changes since the 60s :smilie_happy:
Hopefully you will still love it when you come back! :good: :salute:
