The gang were off for an overnighter in the south west where the winter temperatures are considerably colder. I couldn't go but decided to ride to Beaudesert with the local guys where they were meeting up with riders from the Gold Coast.
It was foggy and the driveway was wet and slippery from yesterday's rain. Not great to be on a new tyre with clay on both tyres and the roads were wet from dew and the thick fog.
0700 at Logan Village BP Service ( Gas ) Station. You can see the fogged up instruments on Val.
Some of the Gold Coast riders in Maccas Beaudesert parking lot.
The Logan Village bikes.
Once they all left I headed up to Springwood to meet up with the VJMC members and to show Derek ( Val's PO) my new front tyre.

Some video on my way back showing that it was clearing already at 0900. Brisbane airport was in chaos after it was reported as the worst fog in 20 years with passengers delayed for the next couple of days.

Should of been titled as leaving Beaudesert.

Most of my life was spent in the Eastern United States. Born in North Carolina, school and early career in Massachusetts, spent 10 years in Florida and 5 in Houston (Texas gulf coast). Last 19 years in Arizona. In the east, fog is common. On the gulf coast, EXTREMELY common - sometimes every morning.

Here in Arizona, I think I've seen fog maybe two or three times in 19 years!

Looks like a nice ride, but I sure wouldn't recommend riding in really thick fog. (157 kph ... lol)

And Tony, for the record, exactly how LONG is that crazzzy driveway? Holy smokes!

Still 97 MPH - on narrow roads with critters just waiting to jump out. I'd hate to bump into a kangaroo at that speed.
i would be more worried about the drop bears, in the trees, on the driveway....... :whistling:

900 metres, it just seems a lot longer when you are doing less that 10kph trying not to fall off!! There were some interesting wheel tracks left by the trip back up the driveway after 11 am as it was still a bit slippery...

It's long enough that if you can go down in the driveway and have to call triple A to get towed home
