I wanted to get out early today and while I was up I decided to make breakfast before getting out on the road because I didn't eat much for supper yesterday. around 10:00 I was on the move on the mighty ST 1300, I took Schafer north then I-96 west, I didn't want to do too much expressway riding so at us-24 I exited the expressway and headed north. a sunny, windy, cool 54º morning but traffic on us- 24 was moving along pretty good, 65mph in a 50mph zone. I came up behind a group of Harley riders, each had a passenger. one of the leaders goosed his as I was passing but the mighty ST 1300 put him in his place without even a down shift. there was an accident in Pontiac so the going got very slow as I made my way around it and contending with the tintops trying to make their way through. seeing that I got a later start than I wanted I took m-15 north through Clarkston, mi. and then headed north on I-75

traffic on I-75 was really on the move, I was being passed doing 80mph. the temp finally started to rise so I stopped in the rest area to shed the fleece jacket I had on under my tourmaster metro jacket, I also took out the jacket liner and opened all the vents before getting back on the road. I've been spending a lot of time in flint, bay city, and port huron, mi. for quite some time and decided last year that I would spend some time in Saginaw, mi so I took the I-675 loop for downtown Saginaw. I exited at Washington st. and headed west to see what I could. I didn't plan to spend a lot of time here so I took a look around and got a few pic's before leaving

leaving Saginaw I took Washington st. over to m-13 and headed south, once out of the city m-13 turns into a nice country road. 64º was showing on the temp gauge on the mighty ST 1300 and it was still breezy enough to move the bike around. I took lansing rd. east for more farm land riding, these was all new roads for me to be riding on. I had been on m-13 before but much farther north than this but it was the first time riding on these roads. I made a left on Durand dr. and rode over to my destination

Neat murals! Very hard to find anything like old gas stations and buildings here anymore.
while thee are a few old closed up gas stations in the city the ones I find and post pic's of are in other cities. murals I find all over, some I make a mental note of so I can go back and get a pic later and some are out of town so I have to get the pic's while there

Nice ride and report as always :good:
Was that really an old gas station or was it just painted that way?

leaving the depot I took too newburg rd. east then took us-23 south. warmed up pretty good, gotta stay on the move to keep cool in the tourmaster metro jacket but I'm still glad I had it on cause it was still a little windy and the breeze was cool. I took m-59 east cause I didn't want to be on an expressway. at us-24 I headed south and stopped at the indian dealership again so I could get a few more pic's of the indian sidecar rig but it was gone but I did get a pic of this " new " indain

after leaving the indian dealership I made the ride up the street to the dealership that carry's about everything else and talked to a salesman about a Yamaha super ten. leaving there I once again headed south on us-24 then took m-14 east and then south on Schafer for home. about 115 miles to Saginaw, 40 miles over to Durand, and 80 miles to get home for only 235 miles

The depot museum looked really cool. I assume the first cart was a hose reel cart. The inline 4 cyl Indians have been my favourite motorcycle for as long as I have known about them (40 years or more). I am sure that I would not appreciate them from a riders standpoint ( heavy, no real brakes, hand gear shifter etc) but I always loved all that technology of the 1920s.
The one in your photo is very Honda like.. :hihihi:

Did you eat at Tony's in Birch Run? Was in there last Monday. I drive for a local Chevy dealer and we go to Flint often. I go out of my way to eat there. OMG, the bacon.
