we took a back road out of Baldwin, mi. which quickly turned into a dirt road, it got soft and sandy so we found some pavement to get back on for our trip to Ludington, mi.

after seeing two and maybe three deer cross the road in front of a tintop that was in front of us we decided to get to traverse city, mi. asap!! out on m-72 the sun had gone down by the time we made it to traverse city so no real photo opp there and we still had another 40 minutes to ride to get to Kalkaska,. I didn't hear my phone ring but the motel called to see if we were going to show up but we made it just as they were about to call me back. once checked in we rode town the street and had supper at big boy's restaurant then called it a night. Saturday morning I went out and got a couple of pic's

while Friday turned into a beautiful day Saturday started out as a beautiful day, we took m-66 ( yes the other 66 :) ) north out of Kalkaska. at the us-131 split we took us-131 north noting that the fall colors were really patchy everywhere we had been. our next stop was in Petoskey, mi. I had taken the lead and got a shot of the Petoskey city limit sign. with my gps on I used it to find us a spot along the water

You sure know how to maximize the riding season! Nice photos - as usual!
it was cool enough Friday morning when I left home that I kept warm using the electric jacket liner but mother nature took pity on me and gave me one last good weekend for riding, Saturday and Sunday morning we saw temps in the 60's. I thought that I would need the electric jacket liner every morning

it was a short ride north on us-131 before we picked up m-119 aka " the tunnel of trees "
traffic was very heavy thought the road is aptly named but the fall colors were patchy even this far north. as the road went north it also got narrow, I thought a few tintops were going to run right off the road. we made it to Cross village, mi. without any mishaps though. cross village is know for the legs inn

m-119 ends in Cross village and there is signage to get you over to mackinaw city going east, turbojim said we were going a different way so I followed him north. we followed the back road that hugs the coastline, it was a rough road even by Michigan standards, we stopped along the way for a few pic's of sturgeon bay

back on the road we ended up on c-81 for the ride into mackinaw city, I saw a photo opp but I think we were both hungry and looking for a place to eat seeing that we skipped breakfast. once downtown I went over to joann's and got mom some fudge then we headed down the street for pizza, didn't realize the museum was up stairs inside the restaurant
