Great idea for a thread in the "what did you do to your Goldwing today?" thread today.

I've had street motorcycles in lots of places they shouldn't have been. Here are a couple of recent ones:

I didn't get a photo of it but...on a trip back from Colorado, was looking at a map and it looked like a shortcut to the highway I wanted. So I turn off highway and it's paved 2 lane, ride about 10 miles and the pavement ends (thought shortcut was about 15 miles long), so I figure just keep going. A little later cross a cattle guard, nothing unusual there (I've crossed a lot on highways), keep going and the 2 lane is about a fat one lane (14 miles in and the road is in nice condition) about a mile later I'm in the middle of a pasture with a cow trail going off in the wrong direction. So much for the shortcut (about 30 miles out of they way), turned it around in the field and went back :)

I've been places where I've heard banjo's playing... that's when I was worried I was at the wrong place. No pictures of it, but I had a witness.
Ill vouch for that trip!

Got some real strange looks as we passed a still or two in West Virginia. Route 5 turned out to not be a route, be a stone road through a hollar!

Oh boy the wife and I too on a trip to Florida from Cali. We ran low on gas and back then without GPS and phone there was no way to know how far the next services were. Got off and went North. Got some strange looks at the gas station. Got the gas and the he## outa there!

:whistling:

For sure, that's one place a Goldwing should NEVER be!

Great way to spoil a fine outing. Sorry to see that. Hope it wasn't too expensive.

Oh..that ain't mine....but mine HAS been on a flatbed twice.
