Haven't you heard???? You can't expect to do any kind of performance riding with a car tire on a motorcycle...

So much for the theory of how a car tire reacts on a big bike. I had to put an MC tire back on my 1800 for a course and yes, there is a difference, but when it comes to touring there is no substitute for a PVT (CT) on a big bike.

Friend of mine researched it after he saw the CT on my 1800 and put a CT on his Triumph Rocket, and he is extremely pleased.

Cheers

He sure is holding up the bike behind him on the turns.

Maybe I will go on the dark side when my current rear tire wears out.
Is it easy on 82' 1100?
Or do I need a rim and mods?

Wheel size change required. I did it on my 81, but i did it with a 1200 swingarm and wheel.

Yellow wolf refused to run dark side for a long time and was going through 4-5 m/t a year, some friends finally convinced him to test them so he did performance and patch contact test, water test in curves and braking test before he ran the dragon on them. He ran faster times, didn't spin tires off the turns, got better braking and had larger contact area than with m/t. Afterwards, he said he would not run a m/t on the Rear again, strictly c/t.

Thanks for the info.
1200 wheel and swingarm.
That means I can keep 1100 diff?

I forgot that... no, the splines do not line up, and the splines for the output shaft from the engine are different also (I believe). I took the easy route and put a 1200 motor in.

If memory serves the splines are indeed the same. However the 1200 does not have the pesky circlip. Motor drive from an 84 can be fitted on an 1100 motor though. So easiest way to be sure it all fits is 84 drive and 1200 shaft final and swingarm with the 1200 wheel.

This evening I took the drive shaft universal joint from a 1200 swingarm and slipped it right onto the 1100 output shaft, so the 1200 shaft does fit the 1100 output shaft.

I don't know for certain his claim is right or wrong but the wheel will need the correct drive flange to fit. Gearing in the the drives I'm pretty sure is the same but whether it fits the 1200 drive flange or not I do not know.
