A few months ago i mentioned my wife's uncle past away and his wife told me that she thought he had a motorcycle in his barn that was filled to the roof with "stuff". Well, guess what? he did and i bought it today. It's in a million pieces but at least now I have a winter project

Here are some pics. I also have a video of my barn find that I will upload. Turns out, this is a 1973 Yamaha 350RT :rocks:

I restored a Harley Aermacchi two stroke a couple of years ago and it was a real challenge as far as the motor was concerned. I did some motorcross back in the day but I sucked when it came to motor work. Had friends that were good at it. The rest of the resto went pretty good, just finding parts were hard. There was a Yahoo forum that helped but Yahoo forums suck too.

Learned a lot, got it running and made money on the deal.

I was never a huge 2-stroke fan, but that one has enough age on it to make it interesting. Do you have the jug? I don't see it.

Its in another box not shown. Upon research using engine # which matched frame # , this is not a 350 nor is it a 1973. It's a 1967 YCS1 180 cc . A piston is blown and the po ( who passed away ) did purchase some new pistons and rings and some other goodies, all still in their original box. bike was stored inside. Also seems he opened engine and rebuilt it. I might take the engine down to our local Votech school up the road and have the small engines dept piece it back together while i work on the frame.

Bought it for $200 so I might be ahead. for now...........

That box with the Romex wire have any wire nuts, for the connections to the electrical system? :hihihi:Good luck with your new project :salute:

Yup, it's a miracle I have all the parts and some not relative. Found a brass plate holder in another box. Pity I didn't find a coffee can filled with cash .

You'd likely just squander it on motorcycle projects or something.
