I have one on my 1200 wing. right now I'm using a napa 1085 filter but I think it will match up with a motorcraft 400 filter which is what I'm going to use next. the 1085 filter also matches up with motorcraft fl1a oil filter

So how do you like the conversion compared to stock?

the rumor is that it's cheaper and easier each oil change. I've seen some people here saying to run two changes of oil per each one oil filter change.

Joe I agree with you on this one! I have never seen that kit but all things considered the few dollar savings is not worth it in my book. just too easy to kick a small rock up through and standard oil filter.... just my 2 cents on this one

I agree.
Though very cool in it's design, I don't think that and the little bit of convenience it adds are worth the risk. Besides that you can buy a lot of filters for what the adaptor costs.

My $.02 also. I can buy two filters at NAPA for less than $10.00. Why would I even consider putting a Fram filter on my bike that would be up front and un-protected.

I don't have a fram filter of any type on any of my vehicles. there is a napa 1085 on the 1200 wing and a hiflo 303 on the 1500 wing. there are hillo oil filters on the 750 and 450 too

It is a nice adapter! :builder: :clapping:

I still prefer the old OEM filter because I always open up the element after changing the oil to check for anything caught deep in the pleats. Lot harder to do with spin on filters. I wouldn't worry about a rock hitting a spin on filter and causing damage. If a rock hit that hard on the OEM filter housing, there is a good chance the aluminium would crack., but I know of zero cases of that happening.

Almost all other vehicles on the road are using spin on filters located in various places. I don't think they are an issue. (Still most likely would not spend the money for an adapter unless I absolutely had no other choice.)

I use the Wix 24940 (aka NAPA 4940) filter in the stock canister. A lot better quality than Fram or any of the discount store brands. Buy them by the case for a few bucks off. Wrenching is therapy for Me, I don't mind the extra five minutes to change it.

Speaking of the rock hitting the filter, a broken filter housing on the road might be harder to source than a Wix or other spin on. :headscratch: If your worried about a rock, carry an extra for peace of mind. :salute:

Bingo! I like mine. Use mainly Wix. Same filter the Vakyrie uses - which, strangely, is in the same spot by design. No body that I know of has ever expressed concern about the filter location on the Valk.

I don't stress over road debris. Replacement filters are at any auto parts store in the country.
