Nice!...The Duplicolor "cast aluminum" engine paint is a match for the factory paint but be sure it is the Cast not the regular aluminum....Welcome to the forum, nice start to a restoration.

and pls. let me repeat my request here

Previous owner of my GL1100 std 1981 painted the frame and lost both labels. Safety certification label with VIN number from the head of the frame and the emission control information label from the right down part of the frame.
I need to restore them and will be grateful if anybody can send me pictures and dimensions of the labels. Perfectly when from the same year model.

Moreover looking for GL badge from the front fender - if anyone has spare for sale - pls let me know :help:

Looking great! While you have the heads off. Be sure the heads and block are dead flat where the gasket will be. It doesn't take much of a scratch or depression to cause head gaskets to fail.

Did you have those chromed or purchase? You are off to a great start, keep us posted.

I let them to be chromed
 
engine after painting
VHT enamel -even before curing seems to be tough
