I didn't know where to go for this question but here goes. I'm looking for the rack that goes on the back of a standard 84 GL1200. The reason I'm looking for this is, the bike I have is missing the rack and I need it because, the rack holds part of the rear fender. Anybody see one of these for sale or have one to sell. Its number 6 on the rear fender.

I know what you mean Brian, the guy that had the bike before was a butcher. I think he took it off to install is home made passenger back rest. Maybe I will try to give him a call to see if he has it, fat chance.

Yes their different, from ANY other wing, & to the best of my knowledge nothing else will fit  If anybody knows of a substitute, please let me know about it, as I need TWO, & have been looking same for years. Good luck in your search, & if you find yours, & any extras, PLEASE let me know as they are PRICEY+ to buy. :thank_you:

Really sucks, the unavailable factor for these, the BEST STANDARD WING, ever made. And to my thinking the best
standard, motorcycle ever made. :head bang: Wonder if, & or when anybody will make parts to fix these old
JEWELS up to the desired condition? Without a hidden bank account from your wife, to preserve your
marriage,( till she finds out anyhow!) :beg:

That's a big part of the reason this forum exists ans so far I think we're doing pretty good. We now have alternatives to stock carbs and ignitions and a lot of fixes and work arounds.

True enough, but good quality replacement parts to fit would be nice even if not stock. A grab handle is important to a passenger, & helpfull to put on the center stand as well, not necessary to run but nice to have. :builder:

Maybe someone will find a rear rack or grab rail close enough to adapt to the 84. Maybe from a voyager or v star? Not really a big enough market to make replacement parts specific to one year of any product.

Now that sounds like a typical CGW solution :good:
Happy hunting!!

Will continue to look, just seems price continues too dictate my situation. Guess maybe i'll try &
get busy, creative, & try to find, or make something acceptable to use. :headscratch:

Anybody that finds a substitute that will work, please let me know :thank_you:

Guys, there several very large wrecking yards in southern California that sell used parts for all bikes, look them up. One usually has to request a part through their site and they get back to you on availability and price.

Only had one, & got it on Fri 13th a day late  now only need one, but they had some for 1000's, replicas, not n o s, but still if you need one l o l. :good:

Thanks; just couldn't believe it, been looking for one since buying my first 84 standard back in 98. Will see how well it fits when weather warms up, but should fit like it was made for it. :hihihi: Funny how parts sent back to Honda that had some kind of flaw, have became so desirable as time passes.
