heres the scoop...bike hasnt run ,1982 golding..., off the road for 20 years...this is my 7 wing,, my question,,when i hit the starter button,,is the r/y or g/r goin to my starter solinoid suppost to light up?? cus it does, but ive found in my fuse box...the brown/brown whit wire looks like it got hot...and no power to that fuse, will that keep the starter from working??? :Awe:

It could, I would fix it any way . I have also found sometimes my battery connections look clean and turn the lights on but are not enough to turn it over or to click the starter.

Could also be the starter is toast and drawing allot of amps, try jumping the solenoid and see it it cranks easily..that will tell you, .These GL`s don't like to sit for long periods, gremlins happen.
By the way I would use a remote starter switch, if you dont have one you can find them near everywhere maybe even wal mart for 8-12 bucks.

Are we talking about the headlight? If cranking dulls the headlight the you have a flat battery or bad connections/earths.
