Been awhile, finally have all parts to change out rear ends (wheels/rims 81to 83mags, 19/17 to 18/16's). For those and any one else, it was said the changing would raise my RPM some, would using an 83 rear differential instead of the 81 help bring down the RPM's?? I've been told in past it's been told gearing in gearbox was the only way to lower RPM! Just needed some more clarification before I make the change  !!

all 1100s final drive pumpkins are the same ...the 82-83 swing arms and shaft drives
allow the 140-90 -16 tires to be used ..witch is smaller round slightly but wider tire ...if you have that and 82-83 wheel id use it ..theres better tires made for this size

When I first put the 81 engine in my 83 with the 16" wheel I didn't like it. Had to shift way too often and highway rpms were ridiculously high, but it sure was fast off the line!
