As I expected, and saw coming. Photobucket no longer allows linking pictures to display them within a post unless you pay the price. $39.95 a month or something like $399.00 a year! I can understand charging but man, that's high and with no apparent options I could find for storage tiering rates!

Please use our gallery to save your pictures you intend to display in your posts here. We have no need here to rely on these photo hosting sites, but please also be honest and fair to others by not uploading pics for storage. That is NOT why we have a gallery for your use.
I trust everyone will continue to respect this as has always been so in the past.

I quit using p-bucket a few years ago when I started working for the VA. It seems that the government blocks their website, so I am unable to access anything while I am at work. I guess I haven't been missing anything.

unless I resize my pic's I can't get them to upload to the gallery or post in a thread. I think PB plans seems too high to me and the lower priced options will not let you do third party hosting

Are they super resolution photo's? How many megs are each photo you are trying to upload? I have been uploading nearly any picture to the gallery without an issue, but I do not try to upload pics that are greater than 1 mg each. Usually much less.

William and I have been trying to figure this out by PM. It seems an image upload directly as it comes off his galaxy 7 will be a blank black picture. He sent a pic to me which does the same when I upload it. If the image is simply opened then resaved, it works fine.
Any ideas?

Open them in windows Paint program. Size them as you like. Save them in the pictures folder and upload them from there.

http://www.shrinkpictures.com/

the free version only allows you to do one at a time. suits me. i save them to a folder and then upload as wanted.

That is basically the solution but still I'm wondering why this is happening. Nobody else has reported any problem similar.

this problem totally changes my posting a ride report. I was going to post about my time in yooper land a couple of weeks ago but resizing that amont of pic's is just too time consuming, it was easier to just link them to PB and now I don't have that option. i'll post more RR's but they won't contain near as many pic's as the yooper land ride did

I have uploaded pic's from my S7 edge with no problems. When I had an S6, I would always get the error message that the file was too large.

William, What size picture do you have selected in the settings?

Maybe you can just change a setting or two in camera mode. Maybe select jpg format in sd storage. Seems there are options. Maybe you can find help on this here. https://www.technorms.com/59353/galaxy- ... ing-photos

Take a look at the gallery tech albums, repair manuals, owners manuals, wiring diagrams. THAT was a lot of work.

It's okay that you don't want to make a little more effort and post your pictures, William.
Like I said before, if your pictures are simply opened and you click on "save" or save them as a different name, they work. There is no need to resize pictures any longer like we had to do way back. I've since made it so our forum software does that automagically. I upload large pics directly from my phone which are high enough resolution to see a pimple on a flee's ass with no problem.

FWIW, I googled the problem and many say it could be a failing sd card. Might try a new one.

And just why in the hell are you takin pics of flea's asses, anyway????
:smilie_happy:

I've had pics on PB since I got my first digital camera, way back when. It's such a friggin pita for me to even log in and LOOK at the stuff I have there anymore.....it takes FOREVER for the pages to load. I need to just take the time to retrieve all of the stuff I have there and put it on my own web page....I can link from there for free all day long. I also had some stuff on another site(can't remember the name off-hand) and them bastiges deleted all of it, and then closed up shop. Everything I had there is now gone.
Just another great reason to store your Goldwing stuff that you use in posts here at CGW....it'll always be there.
