This bike is a 81 GL1100 Interstate originally? Asking, because of the false tank with a badge which comes on the Standard model. False tank and front fender look original.

It is a Standard that had all the Hondaline accessories installed by the dealership at the time of original purchase, according to the original purchase papers that I have. I got the impression from the papers, that all the Intersates were sold out when this one was 1st purchased, or maybe just an unsold Standard at the end of the buying season. It does not appear to be the official Interstate, as those did not have "tank" badges. I would caption it as a Standard, for sure. Thanks Dan!

And the evening sun when I took this photo, make the paint look mismatched, but it appears to all be original paint. I thing the Bags were painted-to-match by the dealership, for the original purchaser. I am the seventh owner, from what I gather from all the papers I received with the bike. Someone had added poorly fitted footboards sometime after the original purchase, which I removed upon my purchase of the bike 3 years ago. I didn't wan't anything other than the OE accessories. Footboards hit my ankles and are more of a hazard and a nuisance to me, lol!

The only original piece that I have yet to find intact is the trunk backrest pad that fits the Hondaline "Samsonite" luggage. I have seen one rotted, tatty example for sale on E-Bay at a ridiculous price, but I would make one before buying some of the garbage I've seen there, lol!
