    Dan and Steve thanks for your reply. I will be keeping a constant eye on that little now fairly opaque plastic. I had thought of swapping it out with my 1980 reservoir, however no leaks yet. :thanks: Gavin

    Well, I thought I read the book thoroughly before I started, but I missed one small very significant detail. I pulled the caliper off my front left (front brakes needed a lot of pressure to stop at slow speed). I had a previous fork seal leak (which I fixed with new seals and progressive...

    New to site

    Thanks all. I was thinking of bagging the 1100 (82) and keeping the 86 as is. My wife will on ride on the back of the 86 anyway - better seat for her. I will keep in mind the notion of dressing both of them and not myself - never know, might start a new trend - really scaring the neighbours...

    Nice looking, however, when I sat on it - 5'8" - the wide seat made the bike uncomfortable. I did not like the feel of the seat or the height of the windscreen. A more narrow fairing and slightly higher screen, and a narrower (and lower) seat would have make all the difference for me...
