My 1978 GL1000 w GL1100 carbs.

Nice job. I love a new twist on old things. Naked Goldwings are it for me. I just repainted and fixed this ‘78. Sync the carbs later this week and away I go. Always a work in progress.

OK. I've read previous threads about tubes or no tubes on 1979 ComStar rims. I removed the tires to paint the rims and there were tubes inside. Do I need top put tubes back in and If I were to run tubeless, what size valve stem would be required. I've read alot of info or tubes or no tubes but...

Hello. So I finally got my carbs to stop leaking. O rings were all either cracked or hardened. Thanks again for all the great ideas and info.

Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions. I hooked up an aux tank and found there are other leaks I could not see with the carbs mounted to the bike. Leaking around the crossover fuel lines between carbs as well. I’m going to have to split the carbs and replace the rubber seals between them...

Great idea. Thanks. I will use my lawnmower tank as a supply. If I fill it halfway should that still simulate enough fuel pressure?

Hey Thanks for the info. There is a slight indent on the float needle tip if I look very closely. I will address that for sure. The seats are new so should be good. Thanks.

Hi Dan. I have the floats set at 15.5mm at a tilt like suggested. I put new aftermarket valves and inlet seats in and found the spring pressure on top of the new valves are very weak. I put the old valves back in. Very minimal distortion to the valve seat on the old original ones and a heavier...
