Hey all. Anyone done an electronic conversion on tacho and speedo's? I've watched a couple of vids on it and it seems doable...
Anyone here done them? There is an Italian company that comes up in my search called "UREVCO". But sadly I am unable to read their Italian Web page or their Italian Amazon page...

Hmmmm no I havnt ..but I currently don't have a tack ..or volt gauge or temp light ...sheesh along with many other things that normal bikes have ...
Hmmm... You rebel you..

If you want do it on the cheap, I put this one on my vw trike. $35.00 out of china or ebay. Magnets glued to the hub for the speed sensor, single wire to the ignition for tach. Has inputs for turn signals, gas gauge, gear selector ( if you have the aspencade) or just neutral, high beam, and accessory lights (fog?) Programmable for wheel size to calibrate speedo.
Now for the down side: has odometer but no trip meter, and odometer digits are so small it emphasizes my need for new glasses. I hope the optometrist comes out of covid19 hibernation soon.
This has worked well for a year now in rain and shine.

Yes, I just completed mine change out last week. Was tired on the gauges bouncing, cleaning and lubing them each year, etc. Especially with the only option being buying some antique parts that could or could not be better than what I had.
So on Amazon, I bought (2) Eling units, one speedo, one tach, and a couple of cups for the guages.
I am quite happy with the results. The speedo is gps and locks on generally in 3 seconds. The tach setting is .5 to get it accurate.
Here are the links:

Speedo: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P6 ... UTF8&psc=1
Tach: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0755 ... UTF8&psc=1

Considering a digital for the Hunley. Would replace the speedo, tach, idiot lights, temperature, fuel, volts. Or, might do idiot lights in the shelter cluster. For now (as soon as it gets here), plan is to replace the bimetalic voltmeter with a digital. If I was smart, the coolant temperature and fuel level would be replaced with digitals that fit the shelter meter holes, but for now just volts.

Dan,
I was able to get the tach signal off of the one of the signal coil wires. At first, I had nothing, but the ratio is set with holding the button and it goes from 400 to .5 It was at 400, but once I got it to .5 it follows my handheld shaft tach perfectly. I am really pleased with both, so far.

They actually look OK. What hoping to do and have seen done is remove the guts of the tacho or speedo and retain the shell while inside its replaced by electronic gizmo's... So the likes of your ones you got I'd pull them apart and after a cosmetic do over slot them into the Honda housings...

Now I'm torn, try to clean the rusty stock gauges or buy the ones off amazon.thanks guys

I'm going go and check one of our local businesses here that refresh instruments and see what they can do in the way of conversion.... Let yas know probably Wednesday...
