I've got my temporary PVC manifold all assembled and I don't want to take it apart just to get the thread pitch size. For the carb studs... Yes, I realize i am a little bit lazy... Thanks in advance.

The VW plenum is metric, I would think... 5/16 is almost exactly 8 mm.
If I remember correctly the plenum threads are 5/16.
The stud is 5/16 on one end, 8 mm on the other end.

Interesting - a hybrid!
It is an oddball.
I had to make a special trip for metric nuts.

on mine I used 5/16 treaded rod cut to length and then 5/16 nuts.
But someone else did post that their manifold was metric holes?

Well, 5/16" = 0.3125", and that is 7.9375 millimetres, so if the thread pitch is similar, 5/16" or 8mm should work. Unless you're going to worry about 0.0625mm... Can you tell I'm bored???

VW and GW are metric it is just a question of whether the aftermarket supplier of the type4 manifold used a metric or imperial tap.
As Steve said 5/16 and 8mm are awfully close.. :good:
