This was a cold day when I first got my bike. Thats my dads Valk in the background. I inspired him to get it out and rebuild the carbs himself. Its running great now

End result

Here is the final product. I think the black looks really nice. It also looks great on the bike. I installed this last night to replace my broken one. I synced the carb and put 50 miles on the bike. It looks great and performs like original! When I get some free time and some gumption I am going to pull my rack and do this to all my caps so they match. I want to put some hard miles on this first thought to be sure it will hold up over time.

Here is the button with the black Delron in it. This is right after it is installed. I still need to turn the external profile on this.

Aluminum Cap Repair
Imagename: Aluminum Cap Repair

I used aluminum on this cap. It came out really nice but I am still not convinced that aluminum is the best material to use.

Aluminum button

This is the aluminum stock in the lathe for my prototype button. This is in the cap that I smashed. I was able to do some stress testing on that cap though. The button stays in real strong so I think its gonna work fine once its installed correctly.
