I had this bike come in Thursday afternoon, running a little rough but it sure is sweet looking, so i have got to check some things out on it, first i'm starting with the carb sync...6 carbs...and those header pipes popping off loudly....it will be sweet when i get the kink out of it....then i get to test drive... :yahoo: ...that's the one good thing about working on some bikes....FREE RIDES... :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy:

I was able to follow a Valkyrie through a local National Cemetery last weekend with that same exhaust system. It sounded nice at a low idle, but when he cracked the throttle, I thought I was behind a WWII fighter.

i got everything tuned in..founds some vacuum leaks on 4 of the carbs, got them fixed, got the sync done, and went for a ride..  ...i got scrared.....really scared... :heat: ...some much power and fast....if it ain't right now....he should look into taking it to the rocket mechanic... :hihihi:

Bee-a-you-tee-full bike!!
Scared, eh? Ya big baby..... :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy:

Years ago my boss was a top fuel drag racer so many of the street race crowd brought their bikes in to be repaired and tuned, of course a test ride was necessary and not just around the block,,around the block then down the street along side the old Irwindale raceway there is a nice strait patch of asphalt to turn them loose.
Congrats on the tune,, nothing better then a satisfied customer.

:heat: sounds like hooch riding LOL

If you're getting more HP and torque than a stock 1200 and 200+ pounds lighter with hooch you probably have more power than that valkyrie. But to be fair there's just something about those valyries and that stupidly big engine, I sure do want one... But then I'd probably hack a single carb on it so I wouldn't have to deal with 6 freaking carburetors.

I wish there was a fuel injected Valkyrie.

I really don't think a Valkyrie would beat yours down a dragstrip but it would sure be fun to see.

There was one in the works when CI folded. Never sold AFAIK.

That right there is beautiful, looks like a work of art.

How does one sync 6 carbs with 4 gauges?

~O~
:headscratch: Carefully?

Why did you let it go? I'm curious because I am watching for a deal on one, but wondering how it compares to riding a naked 1200. I've read that the 1500 can feel like a wobbly pig at low speed maneuvering, this is kind of the same bike and quite heavy, makes me wonder if I'd actually prefer my 1200. Most of my riding is in town, not highway... Maybe the 1200 is better for my uses but how awkward would the valk be?

I think you are better off with the lighter weight 1200 IMHO.
