Fadi called yesterday to see if i wanted to go riding with him today, he's only been riding a couple years now and only has a few other friends that ride. in talking with him it doesn't seem like they go anywhere when they do go riding. todays plan was to take Fadi down to Toledo, he had never ridden out of state before. i got to his house about 10:30 this morning and we were on the road by 11:00. Fadi was riding his Yamaha FZ 6R and took the lead leaving his house. it was already hot and humid, i think we were both happy to get on I-96 and get a breeze going through our jackets. we took I-275 south made it through construction then made a stop at the rest area until the bugs chased us away. back on the big road we took the us-24 exit and headed south then we picked up m-125 at the split so Fadi could see downtown Monroe, Mi. and all the towns along the way to Toledo

i pointed out the welcome to Ohio and welcome to Toledo signs as we crossed the boarder. farther down we merged back on to us-24and took it to LaGrange street to get us heading downtown. a right turn on central street and a left turn on Cherry street had us going in the right direction. i made a left turn on front street and made a stop at the National Museum of the Great Lakes and made him take a pic of the big prop, here are pic's i took years ago

we rode down and had a bite to eat at Front street one block north of Main street, we agreed that it wasn't great but we would go back. i made him take a pic with the Toledo mural to show his other friends where he had been, i took this earlier this year

i made Fadi take his own pic and only took one of him during our ride together. it was taken on the north side of the Maumee river in downtown Toledo along with a few pic's of the Mighty ST 1300

we rode aimlessly around downtown and came upon some streets blocked of for festivities, i saw some murals and went to get a few pic's that as it turns out are not on my phone. from there we made our way back to Main st. then took central back to LaGrange. we made a right on Manhattan st. and took it over to Summit. once again i made Fadi take a pic at this lighthouse

we took Summit and crossed the boarder back into Michigan and ended up north bound on I-75. we took I-275 north. at exit 11 we made a stop so Fadi could get gas. back out on I-275 we got slowed by construction but made our way to us-12. once off the expressway i stopped at a gas station so i could re-start my mp3 player. at Middlebelt road Fadi headed north, i continued east on us-12 and ended my day with 160 miles

Always enjoy reading your cruize notes, William! Is that a spare fuel tank on the back of the Mighty ST....or does it contain something else? :salute: :hihihi:

3 more gallons of gas so with both tanks full i have just under 11 gallons

That's an impressive volume of fuel! I guess it would come in handy in the hinterlands when stations are sparse. I have a 200 mile range, but I can't stay on the seat that long. It does make the mighty st one serious looking machine!

I liked riding my ST1100, but it was not very comfortable on longer trips, really hurt my back.

I am currently in Dawsonville, GA where my son lives, I gave him the title to my 1800 as I'm not medically able to ride it anymore, and he can get a lot of smiles out of it for at least another 20 years before he quits riding.

We need to take some pictures, but it has been raining on us every trip it seems...

This is the last time it was seen at my home

Will get some pix down here before I leave and go back to OkieLand.

sorry to hear that you have given up riding John
when i first got the Mighty ST 1300i made a 600 mile trip to Mackinaw, MI. it was evident after that trip that handlebar risers would be needed, they were added the following riding season. i picked up an ST 1100 5yrs ago and bar risers was one of the first things i got for it

sorry to hear that you have given up riding John

Have not totally given it up, the silver scooter on the left side in the trailer is a Piaggio MP3 250cc....

Dual Front wheels with Independent Suspension.
I have ridden it quite a bit this week, following my son on the yellow 1800.
he likes it a lot.

The Piaggio with be my ride until I quit.
