My mate Paul rang me on Sunday and asked if I could get some time off to go riding with him and his Dutch friend Rein who was staying with him on Tuesday. I was keen if it meant leaving early and just taking off the morning. Paul and Rein went and hired a GS 650 BMW on Monday afternoon for 24 hours, unfortunately there was rain forecast and the bike was already hired. I initially intended to take Val but due to the driveway and the potential to get a wet arse the Rats Nest was definitely the weapon of choice. Luckily the weather was mainly threatening but only some light showers with high winds so the majority of our riding was on dry roads. The main advantage of the weather was a dramatic reduction in temperature from Monday’s 40c making Paul a lot happier about riding his air cooled Harley. :hihihi:
