This is all just Drippin' cool!!! :music: :music: :music:
Thanks Dave.
And when opportunity knocks.... I gotta take it.... Sand blast cabinet I was going to get new in a month or so turned up at second hand machinery yard. Needs a bit of love but I'm all over it. I've ordered all the basics it needs.. Gun, foot pedal actuator, new door seal, glove mounting bits. Once I have all that sorted I'll start doing my mods...

Busy day in the garage today... New sandblasting cabinet is Almost at completion.
Just waiting on a handful of parts all of which should be here next week. Then I can start aying with some different ideas for blasting and get some more parts done. First off will be the 75 wheels. I can fit them in this one.

Good news... My pistons arrived from the US at my engineering shop of choice as I had requested so hopefully the 75 cases will be all machined 1.0mm over. Then it's back home with them to hopefully vapour blast the cases if my new compressor pump turns up... Then I'll mask up the cases and paint them ready for build.
I hopefully will have all other cases ready to paint as well... Pretty darn pointless not to have them all ready to go...

Good news. As Joe mentioned, going to be a good build. If you are going to paint the cases, might not want to vapour blast - leaves surface too smooth for paint to adhere to it so I have read.

Yeah you you may be correct on the Ernest. I'm using an etching coat 1st so that may assist. My aim is for it to clinically clean before painting. Im also considering sitting cases in my BBQ for a couple hours to bring out any impurities... Grease oils etc. I watched a video on a bloke doing a powder coat on engine and was one of the techniques used.
Another thing getting done is the front wheel. Getting that re-laced up after I've polished rims and cleaned up hub. Costing me here in Australia $350...the guy will supply and lace them up for that which I thought was pretty reasonable by our standards here...

This is going to be one heck of a build ..
I hope so Joe.... I seriously hope so... Good things take time.

For all the tools and crap I've got in the shed... Sometimes there is no substitute for good ole elbow grease... Front wheel coming up nice.. Long way to go before it gets laced back up...

Very nice start. Would look good with a protective coating of CERAKOTE once you are done.
If only I could afford and justify cerakote over here... I am going to clear coat with kbs diamond coat..

Wetblast trialling starting to happen.... Did rear wheel today... Came up nice. I found low pressure dry blaswith glass to get rid of most of the crap then I transfer into wetblast, parts come up pretty good at the moment.
Until I can up size my compressor and and change my gun over that is the process I have to do...

My engine casings came home today all with new slugs... Now to finish prepping them ready for paint. I need to order internal roller bearings next week then the build can begin.
Front wheel is almost finished being polished ready to go off and be re-laced. Started on rear wheel today... After vapour blasting the hub has come up like new... Maybe better..
Checked the BMW oil sight glass for fit.... Perfect.
Painted all the brake calipers... Ready for reassembly...
Everything is starting to take shape...

I have taken a break from my wing projects for a bit. I have been rebuilding my daughters bike, a little Honda vtr 250. I've sandblasted and vapour blasted just about every part, nut and bolt. But it is coming on nicely.
I saw it advertised locally for $350. They said they had been offered 500 if they delivered it... Destination was a 100k round trip for them so I said I'll give ya 500 and I'll pick it up that arvo...
It had taken an "off road" excursion but was straight. Engine ran well... Half the battle. These little 250 engines are near on bulletproof. Even with mistreatment!
So I've done the following:
Powder coated the frame, subframe and swingarm.
-Stripped brake calipers and master cylinders, vapourblasted them all. Painted calipers gold. Looks nice. And rebuilt them all. Thankfully this stuff is actually better made than the made the goldwing stuff out of.
-New headstock bearings. Vapourblasted triple clamps and painted. These came up nice.
Vapourblasted front wheel.. Yet to decide on final colour..
-dismantled rear shock, vapourblasted it and repainted the shock unit, had spring powder coated.
-Cleaned up rearsets and repainted plus clear coat
-vapourblasted carbs, stripped down, cleaned again and reassembled
I've started reassembling now. I've been able to buy most of the stuff out of aliexpress... Kept the price of rebuild down.
Maybe once this is done I can get some time with my wings...
