I saw this last night. If I EVER even hint at being this type of bike owner, Honda, or otherwise, PLEASE SHOOT ME! :head bang:
When this "customizing specialist" said "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" I wasn't at all surprised. :beg: Please tell me we have none of this type here :beg:

I'll just let this video speak for itself, I guess :cheeky:

"The only Goldwing this color in the WORLD"??? Really??? :smilie_happy:
"ENVY"???? How about "Narcissist :sensored: Supreme"???

Please feel free to respond, I don't want to feel like I'm the only one who finds this absolutely revolting.

My my my ..I see nothing to special ...just money thrown at it. ...and still looks stock ..the color is not one of a kind sheesh ...I didn’t get pass the front end on the video ....

What is so objectionable to you about this bike? I think it has been done tastefully, and knowing Max and the work Traxxion does, I'm sure it is an excellent job. I just hope that any electronic mods have been properly integrated to the CAN buss as I understand it is quite particular about addons. Thank goodness someone commissioned a custom without garish paint and chrome-plated plastic gee-gaws all over it.

I don't object to the bike at all, and green, especially Honda Jade green is my favorite color. I find the whole pretense of the "snob" with a Goldwing who pays a "price you couldn't afford if you have to ask", totally revolting. This is the behavior of the non-riding Hardley Ableson crowd. But I understand there are Honda owners with more money than brains. I'm glad this guy has a high-income clientele, he should take advantage of them as often as possible. I just find the attitude and elitism to be revolting, that's all. I don't consider "spending money" a skill, in and of itself. -Graves-

I painted my bike, and I'm betting it is the only one like it in the world.
Honda auto Root Beer base, with hand laid stripes of the mid coat for Honda auto Attack Yellow.
Dark brown with indirect light.
Lighter brown with a hint of raspberry in semi direct light, hints of striping.
Explosion of gold metallic and striping shows a golden yellow in direct light.

Having a small paint/body shop has its benefits, including not paying out the wazoo for what I do!

I don't consider myself anywhere near a high-income client. And, I've put almost 100k miles on one of Max's "full monty" suspension upgrades. He may have had a customer walk in with cash burning a hole in his pocket for one particular bike - and I hope Max made a good profit, but the standard Traxxion upgrades are the standard for the GL1800 and new 2018/19.

I've seen too many nice looking classic bikes butchered into "cafe racers" to really object to this one.

Although I do wonder what sort of person throws that mich money into a bike. At least it looks good.

That is what we call a Pretentious Douche Bag. He has money, so he flaunts it, because he can. The bike is OK.

I see pretentious attitudes all the time, and it's not even always from affluent snobs... it's from my co-workers. My motorcycle, my vehicles, my bicycles, my boats, my company truck, even my shoes... they're all dirty, all the time. I've even got a mismatched saddlebag cover, a bad spot in stitching of the saddle, and the clock isn't readable anymore... and the answer is simple: My life is different from theirs. I live in the country, a mile-and-a-half down a gravel road. I could waste three hours a day cleaning it, and one ride to the post office and back, it'll be dirty again... so instead, I give it a weekly 5-minute visit from a pressure washer and put it into the barn for the night. Asked about the clock, I always know what time it is- it's time to ride. ;-)

What DOES matter, is what we choose to value. I value a good running, low maintenace, reliable machine. They choose spotless, shiny, and new, with lots of gadgets. Some feel incomplete if they don't generate envy in others, which is irrelevant to my life. A person can be proud of what they have... but to a motorcycle, being proud means nothing. Riding does. Henceforth, my motorcycles feature high miles, and LOTS of experience. I can appreciate a machine, but the part that matters, is that the wheels are turning, and the face is smiling... even if it's pouring rain...

And as an aside note, I don't subscribe to the concept of defining someone as "1%'er", as the term has been utilized as a 'weapon' to illegitimize the humanity of another. Anyone who REALLY rides on a motorcycle, or bicycle, does so in a dimension that sociopolitics doesn't exist... same goes for surfing, long distance running, triathalons, and many other activities. The dimension these activities operate within, is defined by by nature and circumstance that is FAR out of our control. We are, by the simple fact of physics, all reduced to equal... humbled by the much greater forces of nature.

I think that color would look good on a british sports car, but then it might not get to spend as much time being seen, as Honda has a better reputation for being reliable...
As for the video, I see a hard working business owner excited to be able to give the customer just what he thought would make his bike better for him. If I had that much expendable income I might do something similar, but in a different color ( not a big fan of green), but I don't think I could comfortably handle a bike that size and if I dropped it and scratched it I'd be really bummed.
But really...I'm still trying to figure out which personna to stick with....the pretty red '83 aspencade with the mismatched covers, or the vintage vw trike with the 20 foot patina paint job (looks really good from 20 feet away), or the 1/2 finished cb650 cafe racer project ( just diggin' being creative), or the showroom stock 2008 softail custom in two-tone blue ( my wife bought it for me...I still can't believe they let me in THAT club)
Different bikes for different folks... now I understand pidjones' tag line: love em all, let god sort it out.
...rant over...thanks for putting up with me.
