I keep coming back to Goldwings! Picked this up for dirt cheap. Been sitting for 8 years. This is one of the roughest ones I’ve ever had to restore. Will be a nice winter project. Bike came with all the plastics ... spent the day tearing her down. Here we go! 83 aspencade

Problem.... went to drain oil and some water came out first. Don’t believe it’s coolant as I checked the radiator and it’s full.
This bike has been sitting outside and not used for 8 years. What’s the explanation of the water , probably around a cup then oil started draining.

Think I’m good. Maybe just some condensation after 8 years. Oil is black 😀🙏

Good luck to you.
You might try filling the motor full of used oil, if the M M O fails to work.
Nothing real dirty of course, just might work

The most popular (effective) cocktail is reported to be 50% acetone & 50% ATF to free up a seized engine. Wait a few days and try moving the front crank bolt.
I did go ahead and added the atf / acetone in spark plug holes but it just came out the exhaust manifold ( I have the muffler off) will have to find a way to plug that. Would u put the mixture in the engine as well?

Okay, so the engine has been soaking all week. I have tried each day rocking it back and forth in high gear. No luck. Next step is to somehow plug the exhaust ports to reach the top end of pistons. After that I will try the main crank bolt. If that does not work I have 3 options. 1) try the diesel/ mm oil trick using a aquarium pump . Simply pump this for a few days and I guess the guy that does this swears it will free virtually any seized engine.
2) rebuild the engine
3) look for a running engine
Wish me luck!

Just curious as to how much it would cost me to rebuild this engine if need be.
I’ve rebuilt a 1200 Yamaha but just the 2nd gear .... slightly confident I can do this. Will need some tools of course.
Anyone done this?
