Picked up a red 8k original owner 76 recently. Bike was taken apart in 1983 to "clean tank" and never reassembled. Owner passed and, long story short, I ended up with it. Cleaned tank, bolted it back together with new rubber and gas lines after a meticulous cleaning, and she runs and looks like new (Pistol Pete RIP did carbs).
Need to learn more about this beauty so I joined the group. Thanks for having me!

I'm also a new owner and am going through the carbs on my 76. There's lots more to do besides that. I'm greatly looking forward to a running bike down the road. Mine's going to look exactly like yours. What are riding impressions?

Looks Super!!!! Wish my 77 looked that good! I have owned mine since 77, it's red also and has all Vetter accessories. The carbs on mine need to be adjusted and can't find anyone on the west coast to do that. I've tried but it runs too rough. Mine has 149k miles on it.

So, you're the original owner? Any pics?
I didn't get my '78 until 2010, but better late than never.

I got it from the original owner 2 years ago when he passed away.
