smoke coming out of ignition module?

Ebay used shocks. Around 14.5 inch if memory serves me. The shocks were too short, it would bottom out on the rear fender. I sold that bike.

Still no progress over here. I've been too busy trying to just make a living...

Diy hydraulic lowering rear air shocks -monroe 785

Correct, there is no reason it wouldn't work. There are thousands of examples of it working on other bikes and the only thing different about a wing is minor fitting issues like how you choose to mod the lower shock mount to fit in the swingarm or how you choose to shorten the kickstand. Should...

No, sorry, other stuff got in the way. All the parts are here ready to be put on, but i just haven't had the will time and energy to take the bike apart and do more work on it while the weather was still letting me ride. (Lost a whole riding season working on it last year.) I need to pull my...

I'm not trying something untested here with these. Tons and tons of harley guys report they work better than harley showa air shocks, I think they are the same shocks as on gl's. Most of the reviews on amazon are from using them on harleys, not cars, so you can read their opinions on ride...

The bike would fall over while parked just from the slightest slow leak if you don't chop the kickstand is the first main issue.

More people haven't done it because as far as I can tell, gl owners didn't know about them until I just mentioned it. I searched the internet pretty thouroughly and could find no gl's using these. Since nobody has done it, I'm sure not going to try to convince you either. I would suggest you...

Cool. Don't forget you'll need to chop your kickstand. Mine is already shortened for 11" shocks but it will need to be shortened again.

Diy hydraulic lowering rear air shocks -monroe 785

I have to check when they get here and I get them on, next week sometime. I do intend to raise my rear fender if needed so it will drop all the way and not cause a crash and allow me to at least limp home. I think it might clear already but not sure. I don't have a stock rear fender, so it will...

Can one of you guys tell me what the max amp draw would be from a proper gl1100 battery? And or with the bike on and off, using a relay. I need to see what pump I would be limited to if I wasn't running a battery less than half the size I should be. I don't have the right battery to look at...

Diy hydraulic lowering rear air shocks -monroe 785

Yes air pressure alone. When completely aired down they ride like a rigid. They usually sell around $65 a pair. I chose these after seeing I would pay that much just for rusty used stock shocks with torn boots off eBay. I can run them standalone with a fixed amount of air and save some cash up...

Has anyone tried installing a monroe 785 based diy bagger style adjustable lowering air ride setup like this on an 1100 or 1200? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sa6zjIJWHtY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sa6zjIJWHtY It's based on using air shocks for early corvettes that have over 4" of...

Tire ate my brake line, oops. Stainless lines questions

What do you mean about rear hose fit? My 83 is a standard, looks like a straight shot from the end of the hard line to caliper as far as I can tell. (Mine never had the proper length hose, I put a front hose on the rear the first time around but it was so extra long I had to heavily tie wrap it...

Tire ate my brake line, oops. Stainless lines questions

I have an 83 standard and was looking at getting the HEL kit. However my bike has short 2" rise euro sport handlebars. Should I see if they will make mine custom length to fit the bike better as is or just go with standard lines? I've also read elsewhere here that some 83's are 10x1.25 and...
