    fuel pump install GL1000 1976

If you're having trouble getting the pump on it could be that you're using the wrong thickness gasket, I think the 1000 uses the thin gasket as opposed to the 1100 using the thicker one due to the length of the pump drive cam on the.rear end of the camshaft.

    Suspension shortcuts?

You most likely could, if you can find an adaptor to hook a vacuum pump up to the top air holes I don't see why not, you'd only need a couple of "Hg below atmospheric to do it. You can also do it by gravity straight into the bottom, IF you can find an adapter. And if you can find either one of...

    Head gasket gl1000

I always found that genuine Honda gaskets with nothing else at all, worked best.

    what did you do today

You might want to consider taking advantage of the post on the back of the left cam and installing a Power Arc C5 ignition right there too, i dunno how it'll work with the nitrous, but you'll be able to use a much wider range of settings on the 2 barrel as well as making starting a whole lot easier.

Engine runs but bike doesn't move in any gear

Damn, I just trashed a real good motor frame and final drive, because nobody wanted it, yeah it'd all done 140K, but still, it woulda fixed you up.

    Installing Randakk's Oil Filter Adapter

I got an adjustable pin wrench off of Amazon, but they are both good ideas. Installation instructions are on you tube, I got them by searching "GL1100". I remember the most important thing was to not put any oil on the internal parts.

    1100 carb books available

Mike Nixon is definitely a recognized guru for old GL carbs, as is robin1731. Google him. Glad your still doing good Joe, hoping to stop by one day on the way to Key West.

    BObber build

The black/red and the blue/white are only there to turn off the headlight while the starter button is pressed, if you have a good starting bike you can jump them together. That cuts it down some. :0fftopic: Sorry, not meaning to hijack! i

The plan is to turn 140,000 into 50,000

Hey fella's, I'm still at this and now I've got another question. I messed up the left hand grip by pushing it on to far and now I'm destroying it trying to get it back into the right place to fit the switch in place. They are after market but they are the ones I like the best. I have an...

Engine Knock - that elusive noise!

The last part of that post was supposed to be a little tongue in cheek. The first 1100 I bought in 84 with 1500 miles on it took about a mile and a half to squirt coolant up and in an arc out of cylinder #4 onto my right thigh, so I get that mileage doesn't count. This motor, I believe is good...

Engine Knock - that elusive noise!

Thanks Gerry, it's always good to know sounds to look out for, especially when you're using an engine you don't know and relying on the fact that it's only done 50k, so it oughta be good. Yeah?

    Can 2020 get any weirder?

I went into the bank today with a mask on, a pistol on my hip and asked for a withdrawal. Now if you'd have told me I would ever do that I would have said you were crazy.

    Rear Brake MC Rebuild

Either you knew this information, or you just got lucky when you had your rotor re-surfaced! But it's important to note that there is only 1mm difference between a brand new GL1100 rotor and one that is right at its service limit, and that's true for the 10mm Aspencade rotors through to the...
