    Shifting without clutch?

Thanks for the replies guys. I love the smoothness of the engine, and am super impressed with how smoothly this thing runs after all these years. I wish the gearbox was a little crisper, but for the $750 total I have into this bike, I think I can just ride away and keep working on my shift...

    Shifting without clutch?

Resurrecting an old thread - I've been enjoying a new-to-me GL1200 for a few months now. It runs very smoothly and starts up perfectly every time. The biggest issue I'm having with it is grindy shifting. I have always used the clutch every shift on motorcycles and continue to do this on my...

    Transmission clunky shifting...

Thanks guys, I appreciate your input. My concern is not so much with shifting into first gear from stopped, but more when riding at speeds, and shifting from 2nd to 3rd or sometimes 1st to 2nd. Clunky is not exactly the right word, but it is more like the gears bouncing off of each other...

    Transmission clunky shifting...

Hey folks, I've been putting some miles on my 86 Wing after getting the TPS mod all figured out thanks to you guys! The transmission shifts a little clunky though. Not every shift. Sometimes it's smooth and positive feeling. Other times it shudders and clunks in a little weird. It still shifts...

Throttle Position Sensor source? Anyone have any ideas?

Well, with a huge thanks to Rednaxs60, I had my wing out for a wonderfully smooth, power in all throttle ranges ride this morning!!!! I followed the instructions just as you posted them Rednax and it was a completely successful TPS mod. “Fuel System” light is off and the wing is flying smooth...

Throttle Position Sensor source? Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks a ton for the great pics and detailed description! The replacement TPS that I got came with a green material gasket. Do you use a standard gasket or an O ring like in your previous mod descriptions? Thanks a ton for the great pics and detailed description. The replacement TPS that I...

Throttle Position Sensor source? Anyone have any ideas?

Do you use an o-ring or gasket? Started playing around with an actuating arm and orientation to fit everything in today! Excited to get this thing running smooth and happy

Throttle Position Sensor source? Anyone have any ideas?

Rednaxs60, did you get a chance to take pictures of the most recent TPS modification as you mentioned? I received some of the recommended aftermarket TPS's in the mail and plan to attempt a mod like yours. You mentioned using the original "keeper" housing and trimming the plastic of the new...

    New gl1200 owner - hello

And yes, as was stated, the Goldwing is an 86 aspencade SEi. I didn’t know they even had fuel injection in bikes back then!

    New gl1200 owner - hello

The stolen bike was a Honda xr650l dual sport. I only paid 2k for it so I didn’t have comprehensive insurance on it. Just liability… so insurance didn’t cover anything. It was just a straight up loss!

    New gl1200 owner - hello

Hi, I am a long time motorcyclist, but this is my first time with a Goldwing. I’ve had standard, sport, and dual sport bikes in the past, but have always admired the goldwings in one way or another over the years. I’ve always been a budget biker too. This Goldwing I recently picked up is no...
