After thinking about this for quite a while,,, I have decided to give up riding... My arthritis is to bad in my hips and hands... After rebuilding the 85 including getting the carbs done,,, new tires and such,,, on medical advice,,, I am going to give it up after 62 years of riding... That is...

thanks Joe... not that far from Orlando... just a ride down 27... I have done a lot of work on the Interstate... If my health was good,,, I would not be worried about making a run to Seattle and back... The bike would hold up better than the rider... I am going to ask 3500 for my bike...

I am giving up riding... my arthritus is getting bad in my hands and hips... I go out for even a small ride,,, I hurt... I was looking forward to a season of riding but that is not going to happen... after all the work that went into getting my 84/85 GL1200 into a great running machine...

This is me on a 2003 Burgman 650 scooter... This is a pre trailer-hitch days... Loaded sown but ready to camp... I wish I would have had the tent I have today... It is an instant tent that is 9'x10' and 6' headroom... I miss those days...

The kit is the way to go... my neighbor had an old GEO in his back yard... I, with his knowledge, took that alt and the kit w/o alt and we did the conversion in about 4 hours... Just one man working at a time... It is super easy and you will be done in no time at all... enjoy the...

Slab -- I have the seat off and started pulling connectors off,,, squirting some carb cleaner on and then put di-electric grease on connectors... What black wire are you talking about??? There is also a box forward of the VR and it has vacuum lines running to it and the turn signal relay...

OK... off comes the seat,,, that is a task in its self... Good plan to check the connectors,,, clean then and put some di-electric grease on them,,, check grounds and then re-test... Thanks...

I have checked the panel meter with my bench meter and they are the same... The battery is an AGM... battery is at full charge as I keep it on a tender... I am getting 13.8 volts on the battery with the bike off and unplugged... so it is at full charge... I guess it is the regulator...

I finally got everything back together with the new windscreen... Did some other maint items and just generally checking things over... When I started it up and ran it for a bit to warm up,,, I noticed the voltage on my dash meter was reading 14.3 volts at idle... Reving it up a bit showed...
