GL1200 Interstate
A neighbor is giving me a GL1200! Details to follow, but suffice it to say my last bike (20 ish years ago) was a1969 CB750. I think the Wing is a 1984, and as far as I know it runs and drives. I've only wanted one since the 1000 came out. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions.

Thanks for all the welcomes! It's actually an '86 Interstate with 38k on it. I've ridden it about half a mile (it's not registered or insured yet), and I need to clean it up and change all its fluids, but - already hooked.
See you down the road.

Welcome and congratulations. Now, CHANGE THE BELTS!
I promise! Gonna take a chance and ride it a bit before I go ripping into it. I need to figure out someplace to work on it. And, at my age, I need to be very careful about re-introducing riding a big bike in traffic. Here in the northeast we have plenty of that.

This is an interference engine and old belts fail. Too many sob stories from guys that learned the hard way.
Point taken. Bike is on center stand, belts are ordered. Bike will remain on center stand until the belts are replaced. I don't need to hire out a valve job, when I can do a belt job myself. Thank you.
