I'm short one "Ring, Back Up" which is a large washer placed underneath the fork seals on a '76 GL1000. It's #4 on the diagram and part #51412371003. My measurement is OD 42mm and ID 38mm. The closest I've found the Honda OEM part is in the Netherlands. It seems this washer protects the shelf it lays on during attempts to remove the fork seal so alternatives might be possible. I've been rehabbing and am now in the buildup phase for a '76. I've spent hours searching my work area and going through the garbage item by item along with scouring the Internet for USA replacements with no luck.

I believe that is deleted when installing new seals.
Very interesting (in voice of Sgt. Schulz)! I would agree likely not a required part as it's purpose seems to be the prevention of marring the inside of the fork body upon seal removal. Do you have any more thoughts on the matter?
