Not a new owner, but a new member to this forum. Had this bike since April of 2019. 1998 GL1500 Aspencade, 'red', stock. Had a VTX1800 prior, and this one popped up on Facebook Marketplace. Guy had financed it, and all he wanted was the payoff for this very clean bike with only (at that time) 65k miles on it. The payoff was $2800 - I couldn't resist. Took it to a local Honda guru service guy and had a complete service done, including the timing belt, hoses, plugs, air filter (which was filthy), all other filters, steering tightened up, speedo cable lubed. I've since had to replace the rear tire (ran over a BOLT) and had the front bearings serviced.
I change the oil and filter every season, keep it clean, and ride it not nearly enough. 3400 miles since I bought it.
But I love riding it when the weather is nice. Here in Tuscaloosa, our summers are long and hot. I'm 64 and don't like to be hot! But right now it's awesome outside, and I've been riding it to work and for errands and such. Hoping that my wife and I can take a nice, long ride very soon.
It stays garaged - fits in front of one of our cars - and the cats love to use it as a bed whenever they get into the garage, lol.
