1979 CX500D
I moved back to Wilmington NC in July this year. I was born & raised on a farm in S.E. Iowa. Got hooked on cycles in H.S. with a Lambretta 125cc scooter. It would do 47 mph wide open in 3rd gear on level road!! Then in college, rode an Ariel Leader 250cc 2cycle vertical twin 4spd. Wish I would have kept it. Graduated college and enlisted in Navy as a Physical Therapy Tech for one tour. Didn't ride till early 8o's when I bought a 78 Honda CX500 with 3k miles, stored in a barn. Did the usual caliper rebuild on the front and fork seals and rode it for about 63k miles when it broke the timing chain, so I sold it. In 2012, I bought an 83 GL1100i with 25k miles. Now have 40k miles on it. Around 2016 I bought a 79 CX500D with 20k miles, at a farm auction. I'll attach more pics later.
