1984 GL1200
Greetings,

I have a 1984 GL1200 with 35K miles sitting on my table

The bike hasn't run for awhile, same old story, "Was running when parked, needed carbs cleaned". I've pulled the carbs, and will rebuild those. I'm sure I'll have questions.

This is the first liquid cooled bike I've worked on. I'm a vintage British bike builder, I have built a couple of BMW airheads, and I've owned/restored (never split the cases) on a few Japanese twins.

Never owned a Harley.

I will post the questions on different threads.

Thanks for all replies.

Phil

You might be surprised by the quality of engineering, fit, and finish of the Hondas. And, if there is an oil leak, it DOES indicate a problem!

Welcome to the asylum;
My first bike was a 73, 750 Triumph Tiger,
Replacing the Lucas ignition components, helped.
Balanced the crank, but still it vibrated apart.
