Greetings,

I pulled the carbs on a 1984 GL1200.

I watched a video of where the exhaust recirculation tubing was removed. The video did not go into to detail.

Removal and installation would sure be easier without the tubes.

Has anyone here done this modification, and are there links to methods?

Thanks for all replies,

Phil.

yes it has been done. and there are write ups. i would have to search , same as you. but simply removing the reed valve thingy , plugging the hole into the intake, and using welch plugs in the heads is key. i plan on this mod next time i pull my carb rack.

Thanks for the reply.

I saw a video of one that was done, they had the plugs made by a machine shop. I'm curious if there is a source for the plugs??? Plugging the hole(s) in the intake won't be a problem.

Duster, thanks for the reply. I think I saw a thread that used freeze plugs.

I'm thinking about cutting the tubes off at the head connector, then use jb weld to plug the hole.

I wasnt able to find plugs that fit.perfect, hence the epoxy
