Hey guys, got a problem and I have no clue how to find the failure.

After I removed my stator I found the case had a hole in it where the rotor spins. However, the rotor shows no wear.

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. I have ordered a new back case so I can get my engine back together.

It's possible that the rotor bolt backed off sometime the past, and caused that. If there is no evidence of the current rotor having done that, then this is the only possible explanation I can think of.

Just as an fyi, clean those rotor threads good with break cleaner and apply red loctite. I had that bolt back off on a ride out in the desert 100 miles from home. Had to buy tools I didn’t need to tighten it. No fun.
