I have a 1984 GL 1200 Interstate. Have replaced the Stator, and Re-installed the Pulse Generator correctly(thanks to this forum). Rebuilt the carbs, bike starts and runs great, but I have a lot of hesitation off the throttle, and the idle is inconsistent. I have gone back and forth on the adjustment. It seems like one carb in particular is giving me issue. It feels like the idle jet has to be set almost completely in to have any affect. The other 3 carbs seem to adjust like a champ. Help again. Could one carb have had an oversized Jet previously? I replaced all on rebuild.

Thanks, I am going to try that today. Yeah, it looks like it is lean on one cyl.

Solved I believe. I was just overly Gentle setting the Jet full in. #3 had a spot of resistance that was no where near seated.

I guess I need to re-define lightly.

You have 3 jets, low idle jet, the main jet, and the Pilot jet, the 84-87 GW have a hesitation issue Honda knew about and did not fix it until 86 by increasing the low idle jet from a #35 to a #40 and these jets are screwed all the way in with no adjust ment, Now the Pilot jet on the outside lower corner of each carb adjust the fuel and air mixture, I have a video on my You Tube channel on Max1chase1 titled Location and Accessing the Pilot jets, hope it helps.
