    Your Best Goldwing Customization

I powered the pump through a relay triggered from the switched Accessory terminal available on the 78 under the left shelter. The power (through a 10A fuse) was pulled from the regulator output feed. (see photo). I used a sacrificial mechanical pump housing to cut. Wanted to keep the...

Converting 78 GL1000 to electric fuel pump from a 1200:
  4. desertrefugee

    Fuel pump conversion?

I converted to an electric fuel pump on my ‘78 GL 1000 a number of years back. I went down that path essentially due to the difficult starting after the machine had been idle for a couple of weeks or so. With a bunch of bikes in a stable, care and feeding and exercising doesn’t always happen...

78 was the first without it.

Motorycle For Sale Slab's 98 Valk

Excellent price. While Valkyrie prices have been coming down, a tourer at that level is a lot of motorcycle for the money.

    SEI 1200 Running Issues ….. still☹️

Maybe a dumb question, but have you verified that the injectors themselves are flowing properly? Balanced flow rates with a proper spray pattern? Or perhaps it might be time to begin scrutinizing ignition components?

    SEI 1200 Running Issues ….. still☹️

Good stuff Ernest. For the few, the proud, the SEI owners!

Motorycle For Sale 1975 Honda Goldwing - Original Owner - $2,900

With all due respect, for $2900, that motorcycle should be running and riding down the road. If it hasn't run in 10 years, it'll take $1000 to $2,000 to make it roadworthy.

Motorycle For Sale The CBX is FOR SALE

Thanks guys. Looks like this monster is going to Japan. I like that. This one was a lot of fun. Wish I had ridden it more! I probably put 7 or 800 miles on it. (Smiling the whole time.) You guys do it while you can. One never knows what's ahead. Enjoy every sandwich. Darrell Spencer

Motorycle For Sale The CBX is FOR SALE

Some of you may remember this thing. A '79 CBX, quite custom, but beloved its entire life and essentially pristine under the cosmetic changes. If you have any questions on recent work, want to see pictures, "re-awakening" details, here's the fairly long thread that covers it: (it's a NGW...

    The New CGW forum

This forum software package is a decided upgrade from before. It is commonly used on a number of globally accessed forums. People resist change. But sometimes change is good.

GL1000 Hard Start after sitting a while...

I did not. I should, but I haven't yet. Wouldn't take much. Valkyrie bank switches are cheap and easy to hide. I have no excuses!

GL1000 Hard Start after sitting a while...

Ok. I am an idiot. I answered the fellow this morning stating that I'd done an electric fuel pump conversion some years ago. Sheesh. This was the thread I posted when working through my hard start issues detailing the conversion! Didn't even notice (or remember). Fire away...

GL1000 Hard Start after sitting a while...

Or go to an electric fuel pump. I did that on my GL1000 years ago and consider it to be one of the best mods I ever did. (Used a 1200 pump. Looks factory)

    1987 gl1200 w/ 17k seized?

That's why I laughed when pidjones mentioned this being a tough job. Cleaning the old gasket material is a royal PIA. Has to be done and DO NOT mar the surfaces. They all stick (the gaskets).

    1987 gl1200 w/ 17k seized?

I have never used a sealer with head gaskets. Some do, but I couldn't tell you what type it is and it truly is not needed. Use genuine Honda gaskets, torque in the correct sequence to the proper values and you shouldn't have a problem.
