1981 GL 1100 Brake Caliper Upgrade

Pretty sure that 1100 to 1100 is a direct swap. I had to make adjustments when I used them on my 1000. You may find that lever travel on your new master is increased due to the extra fluid transfer. Do make sure that whatever you buy IS from 82 and not 83!

    Head gasket gl1000

I have used Vesrah or Athena for years with no trouble. The vast majority of problems with aftermarket gaskets are due to not following the proper installation procedure to the letter. The biggest failure is is to not Moly grease the bolt threads AND under the bolt heads. The second is not...

    1975 GL1000 Radiator Replacement

There is an aftermarket alloy radiator available for the GL1100. The mounting points are the same as the GL1000 but it needs a modification to the filler neck. The neck is vertical, rather than at an angle like the 1000, with the overflow spigot pointing the wrong way. But it looks like an easy...

    Changing up my GL1000

"That one came with a set of carbs wrapped in plastic wrap which pretty much tells me those have been gone through and cleaned up by someone that knows what they're doing." That's some pretty broad assumptions I feel, just because they are plastic wrapped. They migt have been cleaned, they...

    Connecting Rod Bearings

Sorry guys, I have not had ANY bearing shells for a long time. They are getting almost impossible to find. The only NOS dealer likely to have something is Pete in the Netherlands. Email and ask. https://pietparts.nl/

Where to find 1975 Gl1000 engine bearings?

Sorry friend, you are going to have a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOG search for almost all of those shells. They are mostly totally extinct. Main dealers will be of no help at all. Brown shells do occasionally appear, as being the mid-size they are the most common. I will look through my list of NOS dealers...

I like the Triumph 'copy' with the W on the tank. What make is that, I don't recognise it at all?

    Thanks! And a sorry tale!

For the Admins! Hi guys, First, thank you for all your hard work on the new site. Looks real good and very much an improvement on the old one. This is something that I had been thinking about for a while, as my Wingovations.com site was started back in 2009, hosted by Moonfruit on a then...

    Almost impossible restoration

There is a saying in the car trade - 'buyers are liars'. Applies equally well to sellers. Caveat emptor always.

    1979 GL1000 Dresser

Nice! Small problem with a bike that distinctive - kind of difficult to get away with "it wasn't me, officer!" 🤣 What make of saddle is that? Looks comfortable without the usual overstuffed armchair and settee combo look.

    Well CRAP...

If you just occasionally pick it up, turn it upside down and shake it a bit, that'll get plenty of oil up there. Problem solved!
