    Carb linkage suggestions 32 PICT-3 on a 1200

Due to my arthritis I ordered a thumb throttle to try. I am going to see if that will work, it has its own cable, just need to design a mount.

Pop Rivet trick on the 34 Pict-3?

Many years ago I was an avid VW junkie, I have owned around 36 Aircooled VWs. And, because they are what they are, I had to work on every one of them. Other than a few that I had Dual Carbs on, nearly all of the them ran a 30-2 or a 34-3 carb. One of the issue we would have with them was when...

    Foot Throttle?

I have thought about the thumb throttle, but the arthritis in my thumbs is just as bad as my wrist. I’m sure I can figure it out, just had hoped someone had been down that road before me.

    Foot Throttle?

So, back in my younger days I broke my wrist. Now I have severe arthritis in my right wrist. Over the past few years it has fused to the point that I have no movement at all. I can no longer twist the throttle on my bikes. Currently I have 2 bikes, 1 BMW R1100RT and a Custom Naked 1984...

    Carb linkage suggestions 32 PICT-3 on a 1200

I am working on my SCC, 1984 Wing with a DKL PVC manifold. From what I am seeing the carb bowl faces the rear of the bike. What are you using for the linkage? Any pictures would be wonderful. In all the searching, that is the one thing that seems to be left out of all the conversions.

    "ENVY" The 1%-er Goldwing Owner?

That is what we call a Pretentious Douche Bag. He has money, so he flaunts it, because he can. The bike is OK.

    Darksiding my GL1500SE

So, for years I have been interested in going to the dark side with a bike. I had a GL1100, no tire options for that, a KLR650, no reason to on that one even if tires were out there. A CB500X, again no tire options, and a BMW K1200lt. The BMW had a swing arm design that would not allow the wide...

Time for me to move on

Well, as of right now the bike looks pretty bad. I am working toward getting it ride-able and make sure it will work for my needs before I spend a bunch of money on it and it not be what I want. So, the ugly stock light it just wired on as well as the turn signals front and rear. As you can...

    Steel car broke fall

Glad you are OK, the fender on that Ford is an easy fix, broken bones are not. And, that is what insurance is for, to cover those times when things just don't go as planned.

Time for me to move on

OK, so, I got this brilliant idea that I could sell my 2015 CB500X and buy a GL1500 and get it cleaned up and ride it. So, I found these 2 bikes, a 1984 GL1200 Aspencade and a 1989 GL1500/6 for $500 for the pair. I had to take a trailer to the Spokane area, arrived at midnight, looked at them in...

Time for me to move on

As the saying goes, what goes around comes around. After a few years of being gone from here, and a few bikes later, I am back. The BMW was a great bike, I wish I still had it, but a buddy of mine talked me into trading my BMW and KLR650 for a 2015 Honda CB500X and then I added a Rally Raid...

Replacing Rear Shock SPRINGS and SEAL (with videos)

Hey, fantastic job on the videos. Very helpful. If you don't mind a minor suggestion, next time you do a video like this, an assistant or a tripod will not only help you out, but make an easier video to view. All in all a great job, thanks for sharing it with us.

    94 Goldwing SE or 2000 K1200lt?

The BMW has reverse also. Flip a lever, hit the starter button and she backs up. Now the only this is to see if the dealer still has it. It is up on their site, but I did not see it out. I think it is because they think it has issues. They just don't know K bikes. If you park any K bike on its...

    94 Goldwing SE or 2000 K1200lt?

Well its not just the better value, the BMW stirs a passion in me that the GW just does not do. I am not a fan of the 1200 GWs(no offence). That BMW was like a magic carpet ride. I know it needs a new front coil-over shock, but I have one I never gave them(new). Even now, just thinking about...

    94 Goldwing SE or 2000 K1200lt?

So, a while back I had a 1982 Goldwing, then I traded it in on a BMW K1200lt. My wife would ride on either bike and seemed fine with them. Then I got a KLR 650 and rode it for a while along with the BMW. I then decided to trade the BMW in and sell the KLR to get a 2015 CB500X. I have now...

Would this work for my conversion?

To my knowledge, no kit exists. I had to make my own as did others.

    Shinko 230 Tourmaster performance reports

I had the same issue. Changed out the front bearings, slight improvement. The air pressure, never did go away till I traded it for a BMW. I just never felt solid on it, part of why I sold it. Should have known it was tires.

    Looking at buying newer wing

Funny thing. Just as this place is a great community that finds ways to save money and keep the old wings going by not buying everything at the dealer and fixing it yourself, the BMW community has a forum just like this one. Yes, they do cost a little more to fix sometimes, but try riding one...

    New toy

Maxi scooters are great, they are so nice to just hop on and go for shorter rides. I used to commute to work on one and it was a lot of fun. I miss it. I got 75 MPG all the time on it, just could not load up a weekends worth of stuff and go over the mountain passes. It did 70 mph on the Hwy, but...

    Looking at buying newer wing

BTW, $5000 is what I paid for my 2000 K1200LT, 5 years newer, 50K miles, EFI, all the bells and whistles and is said to have the most passenger comfort of any bike made. I hopped on and rode it 250 miles after picking it up. Just something to think about.
