    eBay water pump

I have, more than once. They have done just fine for me. GL1000 & GL1100 alike.

GL1000 Turn Over but no Idle.

Idle jets are probably stopped up with varnish. If you were using ethanol fuel before you parked it last, lots of things are probably stopped up, lol!

    Custom seat sources?

Can you post a side view of your bike? You said it is a 'naked' GL1000, but perhaps it has foot boards, or a custom seat that is causing issues for you? We are just guessing here without seeing what is actually on the bike itself. If you already have standard riding pegs and a stock seat...

What do you call a Honda built in the USA?

    Dis-Oriented.

I am surprised that Honda did not label the naked GL1100 as a 'Custom' like they did the all the others. The square detatchable Hondaline bags look very sharp indeed!

Plexifairing III, perhaps? I used to see those things everywhere on naked baggers in the 1980's, lol!

    Love My GL1000

Holy Moley! That's a Caboose, lol!

    Custom seat sources?

I'm 5'6" with 32" inseam, and I could flat-foot my stock 75' gl1000 in sneakers, see profile pic. Maybe a softer bucket seat from a GL1100 could be fitted? I can flat-foot the GL1100 as well, maybe I'm just weird, lol!

    Squeaky Front Brakes

Bowling-Alley wax, that will stop those pesky pads from squeaking. Or you could order some aftermarket brake caliper mufflers from Drag Specialties!

    Another to restore

I don't think those tailpipe extensions are long enough, and they need fishtail tips as well, lol!

    Clutch, not working properly

Humidity combined with aluminum components contaminates the fluid, and also eats up the internal parts as well.

    Rear brake pedal

I call the rear brake the 'assist brake', and treat it as such, lol! I think rear disc is over compensation on cars and bikes, but the GoldWings are heavy and I don't object to the relative ease of disc brake service compared to rear drum. I do find that even fully loaded the rear drum brake...

Naked baggers with a windshield seem to be back in style.

    76 Goldwing project

I have 3 spare 75 GL1000 project/parts bikes (2 with titles) if you have an interest in any of them. I need to clear out some storage spaces that are getting rent$$-happy.

    Newbie.

Welcome to the forum. I have a 72 CB500 if you miss yours all that much & would like another project, lol!

I suggest submitting photos of what they want, regardless of what you have. Are they going to visually inspect the bike in that great of detail at customs regardless of what you submit on paper? Don't give them any task of 'allowing' anything outside of what they want. Bureaucrats don't know...

    fuel mileage

I took notice riding my 81 GL1100 today, and 4500 RPMs is 70 MPH for me. Mine also seems be geared tall, and 1st will lug a bit pulling off from a start, especially uphill. I frequently negotiate right hand 90 degree turns in 1st, thinking I'm in 2nd, lol! Doesn't help my fuel mileage any I'm...

    fuel mileage

45mpg on average, but sometimes less. I suspect I'm having a partial coil failure at high speed as well. I have restored many 60's 70's and 80's Hondas, and old, weak coils seem to be a lot more prevalent than I'd like to admit, and they will kill your fuel mileage, especially under a load...

    Dying 1977

I had a problem with fuel starvation shortly after restoring my '81 GL1100 in 2016. After chasing down everything imaginable, I found it was sucking air at the petcock, especially where it mated with the fuel tank. I had to file that surface flat on the petcock, then installed a new seal kit I...

    83 Interstate headlight bulb

Remove height adjustment knob on the inside of the fairing & the threaded lock ring underneath it. Headlight & mount assembly will then slide out of the fairing toward the front of the bike.
