It seems like only yesterday that Aussiegold ( Maurice) was telling me about taking out his bike for a ride in the first time for awhile and how good it felt. Unfortunately he hadn’t been riding too much recently as he was having some health problem. He wasn’t one to make too much of a big deal about it but unfortunately it took three different doctors before he was correctly diagnosed. He was full of hope for a clinical trial that was taking part in one of the major hospitals in Melbourne but unfortunately his heart had deteriorated to such an extent that he was not able to participate. His wife Doris advised me that even with Chemotherapy to prolong his life he succumbed to his disease a few days ago. I met Maurice through this forum even though he lived about 1000 miles away from me in Victoria. Luckily we were able to have plenty of great phone conversations over the years and were also lucky enough to meet up here in Queensland and take a few rides together. He was a top bloke and I would include him as a great mate and he will be sorely missed by more than just me. Rest In Peace old mate!

I am very sorry to hear this! Maurice certainly brought a lot to these forums. I pray that the peace that surpasses all understanding be with his family.

May he rest in peace....

To the family, sorry about your loss. He will be long remembered. May he rest in peace.

Thanks for sharing mate. I'm hearing more of missed diagnoses lately. Our health care system is broken and $ are not the only answer. I think people will have to become better educated in medicine to make their own diagnoses.

Sorry to hear we lost Maurice... I'll miss him, too... He was 1000 miles across Australia to you, he was at least 10,000 miles from me, but he was only a short walk from the kitchen fridge, to the computer on my desk...

I'm thankful to have all of you guys, blokes, mates, and pals on my desk, too... take care!!!

You are right Joe, he fully rebuilt that engine himself including main bearings.👍🏻
